Ingredients

For the Dough

  • ¾ cup of milk

  • 3 tbsp coarse grain sugar such as brown sugar or coconut palm sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • 1 egg

  • ¼ cup olive oil or melted coconut oil

  • 2 cups white whole-wheat flour other varieties work, but not as well

  2. Once the dough cycle has finished, knead the dough in a little sprinkled flour until it forms a ball that is firm and holds its shape.

  1. Start by mixing together the dry ingredients—most of the flour, salt, and sugar.

  2. Then, incorporate the wet ingredients: the milk, vanilla extract, egg, and oil.

Butter Tart Ingredients

1box (14.1 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Pie Crusts (2 Count), softened as directed on box

  • 1 1/2cups firmly packed brown sugar

  • 1/2cup very soft butter (not melted)

  • 1teaspoon vanilla

  • 2eggs

  • Maple Syrup Recipe Instructions

    1. Combine brown sugar, sugar, and water in a heavy saucepan.

    2. Heat over medium-high heat, stirring often, until sugars dissolve and mixture begins to boil.

    3. Reduce heat to low and add imitation maple extract. Simmer for 2-3 more minutes, stirring constantly.

    4. Remove from heat and allow to cool 20 minutes or until thickened into a syrup texture.
